Slacking Off with Rain Anya
2pm - 3:30pm
“Slag Drag” theory is a termed coined by Rain Anya and Sarah Bebe Holmes of Paper Doll Militia. We realized that there are countless ways that you can “drag” the “slack” of a piece of fabric or rope to create new and interesting ways into your standard wraps. In this workshop, every sequence taught will have some element of slack dragging, so that by the time you leave you will be thinking in circles and loops.
Students must have solid understanding of intermediate skills including same side wrap (catchers) and opposite side wraps (cross catchers), hip key, s-wrap, and various footlocks
Endurance to stay in the air for 3 - 5 min at a time
Ability to invert (without cheating) multiple times throughout the duration of the workshop
Must be comfortable with basic forward and backwards dives
*Note: there is no prerequisite test and you are welcome to take this workshop at your own pace. Being generally comfortable with all prerequisite concepts is ideal.
